Why Become a Member?
Since 1978 the Chastain Park Civic Association (CPCA) has helped make Chastain Park a great place to live, work and play. Our members and board are your friends and neighbors. Contributions to 501(c)(4) organizations, such as the CPCA, generally are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes, but we are all unpaid volunteers, here to serve, improve, and protect Chastain Park. Your $150 annual membership dues are critical in helping the CPCA in our three-fold mission: advocacy, safety, and community building. 100% of the fees are used to support those efforts. Membership runs through each calendar year.
Donate for Security PRogram
We are asking for those who want to support our security program to make an additional donation above the base dues of $150. Contributions to 501(c)(4) organizations, such as the CPCA, generally are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes, but 100% of your additional donation will be used to fund the cost of patrols in the Chastain Park neighborhoods. We pay $40 per hour for security patrols, all of which are conducted by off-duty Atlanta Police Department officers. That means with a donation from you of $200, we could cover the cost of 5 hours of additional security patrols for 1 day. That’s less than 50 cents per day! With a robust membership and your generous support we can exceed those levels. The security patrol assignments will, in part, reflect where those who help fund the patrols live.
